Description of Renogy Flexible Solar Panel 100 Watt 12 Volt Monocrystalline Semi-Flexible Bendable Mono Off-Grid Charger For Marine RV Cabin Van Car Uneven Surfaces

[Extremely Flexible] This flexible solar panel is capable of meeting a wide range of applications where standard panels can be inconvenient to mount, such as on the curved roof of an airstream. [Super Thin Lamination] Hardly noticeable, the Renogy flexible solar panel 100 watt laid flat is only a tenth of an inch tall. Approximately 95% thinner than its rigid counterpart, this panel is ideal for a stealthy solar setup. [Highly Durable] Rigorously tested, the 100W solar panel flexible was designed to withstand extreme wind of up to 2400 Pa and snow loads of up to 5400 Pa. [Potential Uses] The renogy flexible solar panel can be primarily used on off-grid applications that include marine, rooftop, RV, boats and any curvy surfaces

Works great even at some angle to the sun.

Got this on sale and bonus, it works well even when it isn't at the perfect angle to the sun. Great as a portable panel while camping in the shade. We got ours in late 2020, the one we got is 48" x 21.6".

Pros
  • ‎Flexible Solar Panel 100 Watt 12 Volt
Cons
  • May require professional installation for certain applications

Light weight: my feedback

I installed two of these panels onto the soft bimini on my boat using expanded PVC board to stiffen them up a little bit an keep them from flapping in the wind. They are really light weight panels and so far seem great for this application. Set up was simple as well.

Pros
  • The panel is also very effective at trickle-charging batteries
Cons
  • Limited power output during periods of low sunshine

Renogy is supposed to be the best

These panel are pretty durable, but for how durable they are they lack the ability of producing a good amount of energy. So to me it seems like a trade off. You are compromising the energy for how long they last. You decide.

Pros
  • The panel is incredibly durable, ensuring longevity even in harsh conditions
Cons
  • Limited performance during wind storms and hurricanes

Horrible panels, worse customer support.

Ordered 3 panels for my Sprinter Camper, as per Renogy installation instructions glued then to the roof of my van. Output was low to start but I live in MN so wrote it off to less Sun. Went to California for 2 months, output has dropped even more, 3 panels in parallel in bright clear sunshine are producing less than 5 amps. Bought two cheap Harbor Freight panels, layed them on top of the Renogy panels, the cheap panels are over 10 amps with just two of them, exactly what they are rated at…

Pros
  • Its compact size makes it perfect for use in tight spaces
Cons
  • Limited compatibility with certain types of batteries and inverters

No Grommets for my opinion

The product I received is not the one pictured. i.e there are no grommets. I can't install it on my boat as is. I will have o drill holes and install the grommets myself which is quite an inconvenience.

Pros
  • The panel is able to produce energy even in low light conditions, further increasing its utility
Cons
  • Limited performance during periods of low voltage

Lightweight, great for RV or boat use

Being lightweight, these are great for an RV or boat where saving weight is important. These 100W panels are 3 lbs each, where 100W glass PV panels are 16 lbs each. When mounted on the roof, that extra weight up high is undesirable, and possibly dangerous, and can be significant when multiple panels are used.

Pros
  • ‎MC4
Cons
  • Limited compatibility with certain charging controllers

Finally found a high quality flexible panel

I've had 3 flexible solar panels in the past 2 years, and this is by far the best built one. Yes, it cost $40 more, but it is worth it not to have the hassle of ripping another panel off the roof of my trailer. I also bought this with a Renogy Voyager solar controller at a great price, and it is likewise the best yet. I've read about people swearing by Renogy, and now I know why.

Pros
  • The product is highly efficient, with a conversion rate of up to 21%
Cons
  • Limited design options for aesthetic customization

Happy so far. good for me

Items works as advertised. It's too early to know if it will perform reliably for an extended period. One of the cables is inconveniently shorter than the other, but I was able to accommodate it in the installation.

Pros
  • Easy installation. I used heavy duty velcro and adhesive. Holds to curvature great.
Cons
  • Very little flexible

Great panels, mounted directly to the Bimini.

We’re a huge fan of these panels. Elected to mount them directly to the bimini. Super straightforward, reliable panels. Between the panels and the controller, I’m starting to be a big fan of Renogy.

Pros
  • The panel's versatility makes it ideal for use in camping and backpacking setups
Cons
  • Limited flexibility in shaping and contouring for certain applications

Good design. - my new review

Lightweight and seems durable. In full sun the panel is putting out a little over six amps. On a real cloudy day with the December sun hanging low, I still get one amp.

Pros
  • Easy to plug in. I had 5.7 amps under clouds. Happy with it.
Cons
  • Dislike no electrical wiring included. I’m gonna use for solar for my boat.

Not as flexible as they appear to be

I like this panel for recharging a battery generator that I use when camping. It's not very flexible, and makes cracking sounds if you bend it much at all - startled me actually, I was worried I had damaged it. Worked well for my needs. but seems fragile and transporting takes a little extra care. Keep the box it comes in for later transport. Or maybe mount it to a piece of plywood? I put this on the dash of my truck (facing south) sort of like a sun protector and it worked great.

Pros
  • Its high efficiency means it can deliver more power over smaller areas
Cons
  • Limited exposure to direct sunlight in some installations

I trust Renogy. good for me

I would recommend!I’m very happy with apparent Quality and packaging which I reuse when not in use. My came with 6 grommets for tying down It’s light and easy to move In the sun while keeping my vehicle in the shade. Because I disconnect and reconnect often I wish the positive and negative were marked a little better then a tiny + / - . I added a large red + and red tape to the positive as seen in the picture. Easy fix. My main concern now is how it will hold up over time. I plan on updating…

Pros
  • It is also very effective at charging devices on the go
Cons
  • May require additional insulation for certain temperature-sensitive installations

They really work: my feedback

Working with a good smart charger they're right now 90% plus of real capacity on my sailboat very satisfied, vessel is now disconnect from FPL

Pros
  • Super thin, super powerful and super awesome!
Cons
  • May require additional hardware for installation
