These filters are terrible and now it's too late to return them. While they fit well, the foam is either too thick or stiff, which severely reduces the vacuum's suction power. I would not recommend buying it and I will not buy it again.

Just got around to putting this in as my old filter needed replacing. I put in this new filter and suddenly my vacuum stopped working. and nothing worked. I said we'd dig the old filter out of the trash just to check and lo and behold the vacuum works. We tried to put a replacement and still it didn't work.

Because we had two dogs in the house our vacuum cleaner filters got pretty dirty and smelly and I washed them and let them dry after every cleaning. With these replacement parts perfect for the Shark, I always have clean filters to pop in the vacuum while I wash and dry the used ones. Makes life a little bit easier. Also, I think these filters are actually better than the ones that come with the Shark Vacuum.

These filters for the NV1001 "base" unit (self-cleaning base on Shark) are slightly shorter than the filters that come with the new unit which are "high" enough are the full length of the device holding them - it looks like a small "basket". This product does not cover the length of the pole they are placed on. So when installing the filter it is imperative that they cover the holes in the stem, which you can do if you gently slide the filter 'up' so that they actually cover the holes…
