Replacement Particle Activated Purifier Blueair Review

This is my second filter, the first one came with the unit. I have read many complaints about the smell. As a longtime Blueair customer, I found this odd as it had never happened before, apart from a slight "vanilla smell" from the charcoal. Well, a few weeks after installing this second filter, there is a strong smell of glue. Also plan to contact Blueair.

We bought this to reduce the bad smell of cigarettes in our home. Guess it works! Such an improvement. But we use ours all day and seem to have to change the filter every month or so. We have lots of animals and live on a farm, plus it's an old house with low ceilings so the air doesn't go anywhere. We probably have to order about 3 more of these guys.

I use it in my bedroom where dogs also sleep. I immediately noticed a difference in the smell in the room. It keeps dog odor under control. At low speed, it works very quietly, does not disturb sleeping. It's usually on low 24/7, but I turn it on high during the day about once a week. I take it to the kitchen when I've cooked something with a strong smell and it helps. I haven't tried it in a larger room, so I can't comment on that.

Unfortunately I tried 3 filters and they all emit a chemical smell. I tried running the air purifier for 48 hours as suggested but the smell persisted. I end up having to open all the windows to air the house and get rid of the smell. I did this with each of the filters. I give two stars because the support team reacted and changed the filter.
