Finally a new vent cap for my gas tank

My gas bottle has needed a new vent cap for years. The original was knocked out by over tightening and I had to put a piece of plastic on top of the case. Now I have a new cap and a spare cap. The original ring serves as an over-tightening safety device to prevent the cap from being knocked out again.

Pros
  • Superb design
Cons
  • Contact seller

Stupid overpriced design.

First, they will NOT fit older 2-1/2 gallon chainsaw gas cylinders that have a separate smaller oil tank. I'm not giving that 1 star because they don't fit in my gas tank. I give them 1 star because the strap is integrated into the cap and makes it impossible to rotate the cap when the cord is attached. The cap cannot rotate, part of the lanyard needs to be cut off completely. Very stupid design and overpriced.

Vent Screw Caps - Gas Cap

The vent caps I received were just what I needed to replace the ones that were broken on the plastic gas canisters I use for gasoline in small engines. I couldn't find the caps locally and wasn't happy with my temporary do-it-yourself solution. So I was happy to find a worthy replacement from a reliable supplier. A small, simple item, but importantly, it is suitable for containers; and quick service from the supplier was more good news!

GARBAGE! AVOID! BOTH BROKEN EVERY DAY!

This is rubbish. I bought these to replace the broken one on my old gas bottle. They were the right size and seemed to be size compatible. I put one on though and when I checked the glass the next week I beveled it, it was split and cracked like it was rotten. AFTER A WEEK! The same happened with the second. I don't think the manufacturer used the right type or plastic or anything. Not worth your time and money.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • old

It's better to buy a new government. allowable containers

The lids on both of my 5 gallon containers have been removed. It is definitely better than buying 2 new containers for 20-50 dollars each and also deal with new government containers. the mandatory security features that everyone complains about. I think I can avoid spilling fuel myself, thank you very much. The plastic seems to be of good quality - it seems to flex a bit more than the old hard plastic caps (which I like). Not sure how long they will last. Got new injector seals. I hope I don't

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Some small things

Overpriced but seems to work

They fit my Rubbermaid and Gott cans from the past. They correspond to the original caps with the letter "T", in particular the thread has the correct pitch AND size. I hope they prove more durable than the originals which tended to split. You'll also need to tighten them fairly tightly to ensure the gas doesn't escape if the can tips over. This may be because the rubber seal is not flexible enough. My final conclusion at this point is that they are overpriced. FWIW, another set of cheap…
