Good Z-Wave device and small form factor

Although this new device was not detected in the Z-Wave database, Home Assistant successfully configured it as a generic device. Quickly connected and successfully dimmed. I can't do any custom configurations at the moment.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Everything OK

Does it work at all?

I am using this with a SmartThings hub. Worked a few days, then disappeared from the network. The button still works, but no longer appears in the app. I know the Zwave network is reliable because I have switches that are farther from the hub than this one, and this one is only 20 feet from the hub. I would not recommend this product.

Minoston Z-Wave Connectors (mini-plug and dual jack in/out)

These are excellent Z-Wave products at a great price. I have one of the dual on/off jacks and 3 mini jacks. I had a problem with my latest mini jack and contacted support. They responded quickly to my email. I solved the problem myself prior to the reply, but it was nice to know how responsive Minoston customer support is. I highly recommend their products.

  • Excellent overall performance

A very good product with one exception.

When I received this product I immediately installed it on my HomeSeer Z-Wave controller with no problems. However, each of the two containers was added as function 1 and 2. When I tried to add each container to a separate scene in the Scene Controller, I found that it wasn't possible. I don't know if all Z-Wave devices have this issue or if it's a feature of the HomeSeer HS4. If you need to add your own outputs to the scene controller in your application, you should check with the scene…

Very happy with this Z-Wave Plus connector

I used it with a Samsung Smartthings hub. The plug is in the corner behind the sofa about 45 feet from the hub, or even further since I also use it in the garden to turn the Christmas lights on and off. The hub is about 5 feet from the backyard. Both outputs can be switched on and off individually. There's also a button to manually turn the plug on and off, so it can be controlled even if your hub isn't working. Pairing with the hub is very easy and I had no problems. I kept this plug for the…

Product NOT DESCRIBED BUT WORKS GREAT.

Product from production is not the same as on the box and in the listing. It does NOT have a 45 degree end cap or a 90 degree corner for a stress relief wall. It's just a straight connector, nothing special. (See attached photos) The box that the product came in shows the features of the angled plug, but the item included, although the make and model match the box, the product itself does not. The product itself works GREAT and I will consider buying more, but the seller should open a few of…

I could only find a built in box with 2 switches

$29 and separate controls for two different items. Not bad. Half the price of two separate units and uses only one outlet. Was quickly paired with Vera but appears as 3 items. Although I've only tested it, I haven't put it into daily use yet. But paired and both channels or switches in Vera work fine. Not sure what the third one is, I consider one a "parent" device and the other two "children". I simply named them "Duel Switch" (Parent), "Duel Switch 1" and "Duel Switch 2" and only use 1 and 2.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Big and Bulky

Mini outlet works great with Abode Gen1 Gateway

My gecko's lights were on a very old, very loud wheel style holiday timer. It's time for an update. We use our Abode security system as a Z-Wave hub. The convent charged $40 for the bulky power switch. This was smaller and cheaper. I was concerned that the minijack might not work with our old Gen1 gateway. But just docked and everything works fine. Now I don't have to listen to the old holiday timer, and if the power goes out, the lighting schedule isn't disrupted. While the default options are

Poor Z-Wave reception

I have used Insteon based products in various conditions for a long time. While they can be finicky, I've generally had fairly reliable performance once I got them up and running. While I don't have much experience with Z-Wave, I've always read about the claimed benefits, one of which is having sensors and thermostats over Insteon. Long story short, I recently installed a Z-Wave thermostat after replacing my oven and found that my Insteon thermostat does not support it. Unfortunately I got…
