Description of ๐Ÿ“บ 1.54 Inch E-Paper Screen Display Module | Resolution 200x200 | 3.3v | E-Ink Electronic Display with Embedded Controller | SPI Interface | Partial Refresh Support | Raspberry Pi/Arduino/Nucleo/Jetson Nano Compatibility

This is an E-Ink display module, 1.54inch, 200x200 resolution, with embedded controller, communicating via SPI interface, supports partial refresh. No backlight, keeps displaying last content for a long time even when power down. Ultra low power consumption, basically power is only required for refreshing. Onboard voltage translator, compatible with 3.3V/5V MCUs; SPI interface, for connecting with controller boards like Raspberry Pi/Arduino/Nucleo, etc. Comes with development resources and manual (examples for Raspberry Pi/Jetson Nano/Arduino/STM32)

Slow and Fading is Best in Computers & Accessories

I've wanted to make a Eink project on a Raspberry Pi for a long time. I ordered a 7.5" E-Paper Display HAT module from Waveshare. I connected it to my Raspberry Pi Zero W and uploaded the example code. I wrote a Python program that shows the time, weather, weather alerts , headlines, quote of the day and comics. I immediately noticed how slow this display is. It takes about 10 seconds to update. Then I also noticed that there is an issue with how graphics are rendered on the display and theseโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Comes with development resources and tutorial (Raspberry Pi/Jetson Nano/Arduino/STM32 examples)
Cons
  • There are errors

weak connection cable.

First I bought the same display in a three color version. But then I found out that the Arduino currently has almost no support for the 3 color version. The b/w version sold here can be programmed with the u8g2 lib for arduino. This works, but unfortunately there is no partial update support yet (the 3-color version does not support 3-color at all). However, you should consider replacing the included cable. The contacts are very bad. The cable that came with the tri-color version didn't work at

Pros
  • Built-in voltage converter compatible with 3.3V/5V microcontrollers; SPI interface to connect to controller boards like Raspberry Pi/Arduino/Nucleo etc.
Cons
  • Minor issues

BAD WIKI Computers & Accessories

PLEASE DO NOT READ YOUR WIKI! That is not right! this. PIN 17 you would guess is the 17th on the Pi, but for now. They have a photo but it took 6 emails to get it. And guess what? This image is not on the wiki. Code doesn't work, better go to Intractables and get everything there. They style technology from everywhere

Pros
  • Extremely low power consumption, typically only requires power to update
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

Doesn't work reliably.

I have a 7.5 inch display. The product only worked once. I used the example code provided and it didn't work until I got my hands on the device. I'm guessing he moved the plug and drew a "J" but that's about it. I reinstalled the connectors and it still doesn't work. That's a waste of money. Potentially it could be a great product but to make it happen. It has to work first. I wanted it to work but I don't have time to troubleshoot their hardware.

Pros
  • No backlight, shows the last content for a long time even when the device is off
Cons
  • Annoying
