Not as powerful as the stock antenna

Bought these to replace Baofeng UV-82 PS and Kenwood which I use for work. They look good and fit well, but the range seems noticeably shorter than the stock antennas. Even fully extended, they struggled to reach 1.5 miles, while standard antennas can do that with little interference. I was hoping that their collapsible nature along with the greater radial length would be the best of both worlds. Unfortunately, they are noticeably weaker even when fully extended.
