not waterproof, they shouldn't be and I didn't expect them to be. They are very warm and go well with my winter coat. I only rated the comfort with 4 stars because my left mitten has a slightly uncomfortable seam on the fingertips. The price was very good and the mittens can be worn as everyday wear. They are very thick and warm, but don't expect snowball fights. I recommend these mittens.

I love wool. This is an excellent quality product that is very warm. The mittens are VERY SMOOTH without the suede padding on the bottom, but this issue can easily be solved by applying a thin layer of silicone sealer to the palms and letting it dry for 1-1 and 1.2 hours. I have Raynaud's disease so my fingers/hands, feet and tip of my nose are almost always cold and very sensitive to temperature changes. I have so many gloves, mitts, mittens, etc. to try and fight it. These gloves are partly lined with terry cloth and partly with wool on the outside. The wrists are a bit tight, but that doesn't let them slip. The water balloons are outside so they should hold up when we have snow.
