No problem: scanner and tester

I bought this set from another site with a crimping tool a few years ago and have never had any problems with it. Yes it's cheap but it works.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging

not functional for scanners and testers

This device has worked well for a while. Then it showed a 3 pin error on known good 8 pin cables. This device did not work right out of the box. 3 known working 8-wire network cables were tested. The tester showed #5 poorly on all three. It's a shame that this simple and inexpensive tester is so unreliable, but I think you get what you pay for. Might try again in the future.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure
