RMT-AA401U Replacement Remote Control for Sony STR-DH190, STR-DH590, STR-DH790 AV Receivers Review

Our Rottweiler ate our original remote control. This replacement works great with the same functionality as the original.

To be honest I haven't had a chance to use it as it had some residue when it arrived so I had to send it back. It was in a good form factor and I would love to use it, but unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity.

The remote control doesn't work with my Sony STR DE 575 receiver, so I don't need it. In the description it was not clear whether it works with old receivers or not. Construction - a typical inexpensive plastic. I checked it and it emits an infrared signal when the buttons are pressed. My guess is that Sony has changed the signals from the remote to the receivers over time. I returned it.

I bought this remote after I lost my original remote when I moved house. It works exactly as advertised for my Sony STRDH590 5.2 surround sound. A few months after moving I found the original OEM remote (pictured right). They are almost identical except the replacement is made in China, the OEM in Indonesia.
