Great replacement ballast

When my kitchen's relatively new 4-tube T8 fluorescent light suddenly stopped working I was afraid I would have to buy a new light fitting. Not so! I found this replacement for my Espen VE432120MIP ballast and fifteen minutes after it arrived I installed it and the light came on again. All the wires were the same color as the old ballast and were long enough to go where they needed to go. Exactly the same size as the old ballast, it attached to the metal tabs on the original bracket and screwed

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Empty

Works great with Revain Basics Plug-n-Play T8 LED bulbs

This ballast was used on a low cost repair to an existing 4 bulb fluorescent bulb. Rather than swap out the tombstones and rebuild the fixture to accept T8 direct wire LED bulbs, I chose to simply swap out the ballast and bulbs in the fixture. The lamp is in my hobby room in the basement. Rewiring and sourcing new tombstones (the unshielded ones you need for straight wire LED filament bulbs) would cost about the same and be more of a hassle. The whole job from start to finish took about 30…

Black Light Ballast

Replaces Espen VE432120MIP. The only thing that confuses me is that it's black and I can see its dark form through the lid and I'm wondering why the company sells black light ballasts (Aspen was white). However, it works great and installation was a breeze and I'm glad I don't have to buy a brand new device. The wires were long enough that I shortened them to the length of the old ballast wires. Took me less than an hour including disassembling the mount to easily swap it out. When I bought…

  • Great for outdoor activities

  • Lots of stuff

Save money switching from magnetic ballast

My old ballasts are tired and some bulbs have burned out so it's time to switch to T-8 electronic ballasts/tubes. I replaced 2 magnetic ballasts with one each in my 4/4 bulb ceiling pendant lights and what a difference. Searched the Robertson website for detailed cross references. Instant on and almost full brightness, quiet (although some bulbs take a minute to get even light in the center - not sure if it's incandescent or ballasted, although they don't have the same problem if they do use…

Simple DIY electrical chore

I bought this ballast to replace a Phillips/Advance unit I installed 4 years ago. (REB-4P32-SC) My light uses 4 T8/32W bulbs. The device fit easily into the holder and the exchange took about 10 minutes. Immediately after completion, the light went on. no noise My only complaint about the ballast was that the mounting tabs on either end of the ballast were bent when Revain arrived. I had to flatten them with a hammer to attach the ballast. Since it doesn't affect performance, I still give it 5…

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging

Died right after the reverse window

I bought these ballasts twice. I had no problems with my first one and it worked great. However, my last one failed completely just after the 30 day return window. [UPDATE: Robertson customer service was excellent and gave me a refund even though Revain had expired so I changed my rating to 4 stars as my first ballast had no issues.] When I first installed it I also installed 4 new, somewhat expensive Sylvania 32W T8 fluorescent tubes with high CRI, because my old tubes were quite dark at the…
