Exactly the same as what you see in malls or specialty stores but at half the price. Well packaged and works great. This was a gift for my 11 year old and he absolutely loves it.

Who doesn't like a surge of electricity that may or may not destroy you if you aren't protected by the globe? I love playing with these things and my kid finds them "magical" haha.

Used for class discussion (elementary level) about electricity. If children held each end of a small LED and then touched the plasma ball, the LED in their fingers would light up. They thought it was so cool. perfect price

Bought as a gift for my grandson, it was a hit! For the price it's great quality, a decent size and looks very nice. It can be set to respond to touch OR sound so you can sing or speak and it will follow you. I will definitely buy it again (and maybe I want the same for myself!)

I ordered this plasma ball as a present for my daughter's 7th birthday. She opened it on Wednesday. After 2 days (Friday) it stopped working. Dead / no power. Reconnect the power cord at the back and make sure it is secure. Swapped with the outlet our work lamp was using. Dead. Disappointed Daughter; disappointed mom. There will be a replacement.

Bought for my son's birthday. Decided it was safer than a lava lamp. My boys plugged it in and it accidentally fell off the dresser and onto the plush rug. it EXPLODES tiny shards of glass everywhere! My kids are very lucky not to get cut. I, on the other hand, was unlucky. As I tried to clean up the disaster, a shard of glass stuck out of my finger. Terrible! Glass, of course, is very thin, but the broken part is extremely dangerous. Absolutely not recommended to anyone!

I like mine (and I'm 50) so I thought it might be the right kind of entertainment for my four year old granddaughter. The poor thing stared at her for almost four minutes without blinking. The fate of Microsoft Windows turned in their eyes. And then she figured out what happens when you touch her. "I have a house flash!" So yes. Considering what can happen with kids and glass, this will be a fun little gadget for your kids, or for you if you're a kid at heart. Because we all need a house flash…
