Great multi-tool

Well I don't really like disposable products, so I really appreciate this multi-function reader. With so much tech junk piling up in my tech junk bins, I was glad to find a flexible reader. The wife needs part of the chip card to pay taxes (international) and she decided that instead of using the same amount of money for one use, she could read other cards. So far I've tested the smart card and it reads the camera's memory card, so it covers all our basic needs!

Don't waste your money and time with this reader.

I needed a card reader for shopping at fairs, so I bought this one. The first dislike is very few instructions and only for Win or Mac OS, nothing for the phone. When connected you get absolutely nothing but a red light, nothing to show you how to process a payment when selling an item, defeating the purpose of a card reader. Back immediately. Oh, and it's made in China.

Made in China, fear the military

Yes, I bought it without paying attention. The product arrives exactly as advertised, then you turn it around and realize it was made in China. Go back to the page and as advertised it is from a China based company with a .hk site. Look at the certifications and level 1 just means the hardware conforms to international standards, nothing to say about the software. It will probably work. Is anything else downloaded to your computer to successfully transfer your certificates? I don't know, but…

Quickly. light, fast, small and fast. Works great with Mac. Accompanies me wherever my laptop is. (Did I mention it's fast?)

I've tried dozens of card readers over the years and this is one of my favorites. It's small, light and incredibly fast. Yes, USB-C is supposed to be fast, but I have other USB-C readers that are half as fast as this one. It reads every card I've tried and performs on par with my MacBook Pro. Nothing more to say except that it's now part of my bag of tricks (the zip lock I keep in my laptop bag that takes me everywhere). For the price you can't go wrong.

Worked great the first time - plug and play

NOTE. This review is for readers with a short USB-C cable. I was concerned whether the OTG implementation in my phone is compatible, it worked perfectly for the first time. The short cable removes power from the phone's USB-C port.
