. It's cheap plastic with silk-screened labels and a spacer that allows two microphones to be positioned in the x/y axis. There's literally nothing to tell you that any stamped metal stereo at nearly 1/5 the price won't work as well. Mine came without a threaded adapter so I had to find three to mount it on a stand and mount two mic mounts. Also the microphone clips are not included. For this price everything should be in the box. I'm totally willing to pay premium prices for a premium solution

I bought this one because it got a great "Sound on Sound" review. This is really a good product. As advertised, it has all sizes and clamps, plus everything you need to set up several common stereo configurations. I gave 4 stars because mine did NOT come with enough 5/8 adapters. I was wondering if it's really worth the money they charge for it when you can get a similar product for half the price, but it is! When recording, it's difficult to get the two mic stands right, not only to avoid phasing issues, but also to get the right angles for XY, ORTF, etc. XY, ORTF, spaced pair and whatever else you can think of. It comes with two standoffs attached to the pole so you can place one mic on top of the other when recording XY. Plus, it's just nice not having to deal with…
