Description of Improve Your Audio Capturing with the Rode VideoMic Microphone Pack - Including Rycote Lyre Mount, Boom Pole, Screw Adapter, and Extension Cable

A professional grade 1/2" condenser shotgun microphone designed for use with consumer video cameras and personal audio recorders. The Rycote Lyre shock mounting system provides isolation from external factors that may cause unwanted rumble and vibrations. The standard sized shoe mount also includes a 3/8" thread in the base for easy mounting on a boom pole or stand. Employs a super-cardioid polar pattern for highly directional recording, focusing on the subject in front of the camera. Features a native 40Hz-20kHz response and a high-pass filter at 80Hz to prevent low-end noise such as traffic from being recorded. A -10dB and -20dB level attenuation (or PAD) allows recording of loud sound sources, such as live music or motorsport.

I can't believe the product is so expensive and so fragile.

I can't believe that such an expensive, fragile product doesn't come with some sort of carrying case. No, plastic packaging does not count. As a result, I don't take it out until I find the right one. IDK, boxing thing. I just expected more from a well-known brand.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Difficult to say

better than my go mic

mic is ok better than my go mic but the stand is too long for travel, it doesn't fold completely, a problem for my travel cable is just universal, It makes noise when the connector is moved in and out or twisted when connecting to the camera. Don't buy a dead cat they recommend, poor quality.

Pros
  • feels good
Cons
  • no insurance

This rode kit is good but expensive

This rode kit is good but expensive. Maybe too overrated. I give 4 stars because of the design. This is a static design and unless you have an adapter the microphone will only interfere when holding the camera. I used a Panasonic TM-700 camcorder and it's impossible to pick up the camera and record any moving video unless you use a tripod.

Pros
  • Beautiful thing
Cons
  • Vulgarity

great microphone set for DSLR

This microphone is great for recording videos on my DSLR. Background noise is minimal and ease of use is great. A note for Canon users: my first attempt at using this led me to believe that the microphone is defective. You must press the audio jack very firmly to fully insert it into the camera's microphone jack. The cable does not want to sit completely and cannot be connected without a lot of pressure.

Excellent microphone. Boom is well done too.

This is by far the best microphone I have. I mainly use it to create sound in the videos and short films I make. I never had to change the battery once, which is surprising given that many of the shoots I've used it on have lasted several hours each. I use it with the Zoom H1 and everything I point this mic at sounds nice and clear. The boom arm is also very light and easy to use, which is a very valuable feature on set/on location. The only time this mic failed was when I connected it to my…

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

So far I am satisfied with the product. I haven't tried the arrow yet. After extensive troubleshooting I was about to send the microphone back. Finally (to get away from the electronics as much as possible) I disconnected my Pansonic G7 battery adapter (unbranded) and went to the garden with a standard battery. No more buzzing. returned to my workshop with more power tools and lamps. No problem. The problem was interference from a counterfeit power supply. Now I'm looking for another adapter…

Pros
  • Dream come true
Cons
  • Weak set

Two disturbing functions

The microphone is fine. Nothing special. In terms of comfort it has two "features" and I have no idea why Rode chose to design this mic this way. one). 9 volt battery. For real? Who uses a 9 volt battery these days? I rarely use this mic for my purposes and every time I need to use it having to find or buy a 9 volt battery is very annoying. Just pop in an AA Rode battery that everyone has handy and we're done.2). 3/8" mounting screw hole? This mic weighs about 10 ounces. No 3/8" screw is needed

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • There are problems

Incredible sound quality for internal recordings with the Sony a6300, the extension cable supplied comes very handy when mounting the microphone on the boom and gives you some freedom. The build quality and cushioning of the mount is very good, and the plastic body makes it very light. The uniqueness of the a6300 is that looking through the electronic viewfinder is awkward but still possible if you install it on a hot shoe, and on some lenses you can see the microphone when shooting at wide…
