The new one did not arrive Internal components

The package was obviously opened earlier and sent back, despite a statement on the condition of the new one. The box was torn, the plastic bags were out of place and there were a few dents on the plate. This should have reduced the price by $25-35. I am using a cymbal with an Alesis DM10 MKii Pro Kit to replace a dead 14" cymbal. I would buy a 14" Roland if it wasn't so expensive. I like Roland Cymbal more than Alesis, but not much. I will likely replace other parts with Roland over time asโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No service

The best electronic ride cymbal I have ever played

Great feel, look and price. A heavy ride that allows fast and hard pole work. I assumed you could crash it, but I'm using it as a ping drive. Replaced my Roland CY-13R (now crashed) as it is 2" taller and has enough arc to play without hitting the edge or bell. Not quite a 22" cymbal, but much more natural than playing on a 12" or 13" ride. Basically plug and play with any Roland kit, let alone other brands. If you have one If you need a new crash for your Roland kit, consider upgrading yourโ€ฆ

Good in every way except mechanics.

The top and bottom screws are long enough to barely tighten but not strong enough to hold tight. I found some longer screws so I hope they are strong enough. I don't have a lot of self-confidence. Otherwise everything looks fine.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • the list will be long.

Bought for my Kat Kt4 electric drum kit and it worked great with it

I didn't think Roland cymbals were that good quality but when I bought this 12" Roland CY12 I understood why Roland drums are so expensive because of the good quality. Anyway, I have a Kat Kt4 electronic drum kit and it worked great with it. I bought this Roland cymbal because my 12" Kat cymbal stopped working, the entrance was damaged by vibration I think, but this Roland cymbal is much better than my Kat cymbals.

Pros
  • Looking forward to it

Additional Cymbal for Alesis DM10 mkii

I have "Gibraltar SC-CMBAC Medium Cymbal Boom Attachment Clamp" and "Hosa STP-203 1/4" TRS to Dual 1/4" TS Insert Cable, 3 meters used" to separate the rim of tom 4 and make an additional cymbal out of it. It came with a hi-hat clutch and cymbal mount so I didn't have to buy anything. Everything is fine / still moving. If I have to change the Alesis cymbal, I'll probably go for the Roland CY-12.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Compatibility

Good value for money.

Roland V-Drum pads are notoriously expensive, but they're the best. The CY-13R and a pair of CY-5s are good, relatively inexpensive replacements for the outdated PD-6 pads I used for cymbals. However, the edge/top trigger difference between the CY-5 and PD-x is not as good as the PD-x pads. Overall I'm very happy with them - they work well and look a lot better. You need to buy cymbal bars if you use pad mounts. Remember that you have two driving cables, one for two triggers and one for theโ€ฆ
