I had to remove two layers of wallpaper over a layer of paint over two other layers of wallpaper. It definitely helped the water get into multiple layers and saturate it so it came off the walls. It also doesn't damage the walls! Definitely recommend.

Maybe the wallpaper we had was too thick, but unless we're very aggressive it doesn't penetrate enough to get grout underneath. In the end, we just resorted to manually skimming off the thick layer, leaving a thin layer for the spray to pull off easily.

This tool worked perfectly for about three sheets of wallpaper - then the wheels fell off. In product defense - the wallpaper was heavyweight textured vinyl so maybe too hard for this tool. and it let the water sprayed on the vinegar seep in and made stripping the old wallpaper very easy without damaging the drywall. I had 40 records to go when it broke so it wasn't good. Perhaps the product description should state that it is not designed to handle heavy vinyl material.

This is a cheap plastic thing that sounds like nails on a board when in use. But it did help me remove some of the stickiest wallpaper from my unprimed drywall. This paper had been there for 25 years and was apparently going to be stuck for another 25 years. :) My method was simple - sweep the thing over a large area of wallpaper and then mist it with water.
