Exactly what the doctor ordered

Exactly what the doctor ordered for a 2008 tongue extension that separated. One caveat: make sure you've already covered the build before proceeding with shrinking as it won't hold up after that - oops, that's for sure. It would be nice to have a second piece of tape for those of us who are wrong anyway. But you can't blame the manufacturer for that.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Legacy model

Drawbar extension securely fastened

This drawbar extension is very good. I really like the rigid attachment to the tiller. It would be even better if you could somehow detach the extension from the part that is firmly attached (2 screws) to the tiller. Someone told me there is an older model that slides on the side but isn't as tight. Dilemma: strong attachment to a certain distance

No heat shrink

I have purchased this part from other vendors in the past and they always included a short length of heat shrink to cover the screws or rivets holding the part in place. This time the heat shrink tubing was not included, although the picture on Revain shows the tubing. Otherwise it is a 5 star product in my opinion. They will eventually break, so be sure to check them regularly; but in general it's a good part that moves in all directions without jamming and play.

Good quality not cheap

This is a quality replacement. If I could just buy a $10 piece of rubber and heat shrink instead of paying $20 for the entire installation I would give it five stars. You'll need to drill a hole in the rubber shaft for the locking pin and you'll be grateful if you remember to put the shrink tubing and plastic cover on the tiller extension before assembling everything. Two mounting screws are not included - you should reuse the old ones.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • No Automatic

Very good replacement part.

This product replaced an identical link on a 2003 sailboat tiller that had cracked over time. If the new one lasts 13 years like the original, I'll be more than satisfied. This is a completely identical part from the same manufacturer and quite flexible. It was easy to replace. I recommend watching a YouTube video of the replacement process. it was very helpful. However, his replacement is pretty obvious. Just remember to put the shrink tubing on the tiller extension BEFORE connecting the…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Almost OK
