Bought to place on our kitchen table over a tablecloth to protect the tablecloth. It came folded in a padded envelope. The tablecloth was really thick, which is what we wanted. However, the tablecloth was quite difficult to unfold and had stiff creases at the folds. We placed it on top of our fabric tablecloth and placed heavy objects on top of the folds hoping it would lay flat. It did not work.
