Danger! Fire hazard!

This was my third Rowenta. The first two I had were the DW2191 and they were terrible. They were too heavy and didn't have enough support, so they could fall over. They poured out a lot of water. The cable was real junk. Both irons broke from the fall. In this model they seem to have fixed these issues and everything worked fine. This time I was happy with my purchase because they were all quite expensive. But then, without warning, mine literally burst into flames, spattering molten aluminum…

Pros
  • Can be ironed with tap water - the iron is easy to fill thanks to the practical filling opening, anti-drip lid and transparent water tank window
Cons
  • Little things

Still Made in Germany - and no longer all Rowenta

Like Rowenta? I also. I have had several of their irons over the years and have always been happy with them. But in recent years Rowenta has succumbed to market forces and now they make much of their irons in China. Fortunately, this is not the case with this model. This one is actually still Made in Germany and you can feel that when you touch it. It's rock solid and works great. I notice less water when ironing compared to previous Rowenta models and the handling and glide are excellent…

Pros
  • 3-position thermostatic knob - easy to use and to select the perfect steam for every textile
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

49 years later. for irons

After 49 years of use Grandma's 1972 (year of purchase), 1100 watts, made in the USA (Connecticut), General Electric is retiring, only use to strengthen the fabric. It's been a solid and reliable assistant and I'm not ready to give it up. My new assistant is Rowenta Focus Excel, 1725; Made in Germany has some very nice qualities. After LOTS of research and about a month of daily use, I'm sharing my review: PROS: It's about the same weight as my GE which is good, I find the weight of the iron…

Pros
  • Safety first with rowenta - Automatic three-stage switch-off system to avoid accidents
Cons
  • No.

Works better if you find out how to use the anti-calc functions

This is my third Rowenta. I don't like ironing, but less if I use a good Rowenta iron and a stable ironing board. I used to have a Rowenta that was spitting out rusty water and lots of white scale particles, so I decided to ditch that and get an Everlast anti-scale iron. regular tap water, no flavored or distilled water). When I first used Everlast Anti-Calc, I would drain it from the water when I was done, then hit the steam and spray buttons to make sure there was nothing left, and also…
