Save your money

I bought this for my mom. Although it is a beautiful typewriter, it was functionally unusable. The only part of the band that worked was the red one, and even that was weak. Don't waste money. Either learn how to use Google Docs or Word, or buy a used Goodwill typewriter for a fraction of the cost. I will say that Revain got my money back very quickly so that's a plus.

granddaughter loves it!

Our 11-year-old granddaughter wanted this for her birthday. A prolific writer, she was intrigued by the idea of a manual typewriter after seeing cartoons featuring Snoopy at the keyboard. She uses Google Docs with ease, but loves the feel and sound of a manual typewriter and spends hours on it every day. I can't speak to its performance and durability but we have a happy granddaughter.

I'm in my 40's and in high school I took typing lessons on a manual typewriter like this one and I also remember having one of these in my grandmother's house. Obviously it's not as smooth as typing on an electric word processor (which is very similar to today's computers), but it's a functionally…
