Handle not properly finished. It looks like it was just smeared and not glued. Water penetrates the wood. It's unsanitary and probably won't last long. The blade is sharpened so that if you use it side down it will scratch the work surface well, but if you turn it over it will pierce and gouge the work surface. At first glance it looks the same, so I do this a lot. I'm sure there are much better options. I would skip this one.

This is a beautiful piece and will do the job. I like that it has a bevel at the end of the blade. But the blade is NOT HERE in the handle! If it had been assembled correctly I would probably give 5 stars. Actually, that's a disappointment. Update: I have to upgrade this from 3 stars to 2 stars. Received a few months ago. To this day I didn't know how good it was. My parents and my wife gave me scrapers from other manufacturers for Christmas. Took it out of the box today and was so disappointed. My parents' one is thin and was actually bent in half when I opened it. I was able to straighten it, but the fact that I can is bad. My wife's seemed to be a competitor (from King Arthur). but it has no chamfer on the edge and it's clearly just stamped metal and it has very sharp edges. I don't
