Do NOT buy this product

This was one of my worst purchases. I rarely write negative reviews, but in this case I have to. This thing doesn't grind nuts at all. They just sit on the metal spokes and don't really break - you have to try and push them down with your fingers. It took my husband and I literally 15 minutes (we had to take turns) to grind up 1/2 cup of pecans for the dish I made. It was completely ridiculous.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Grinding nuts suitable for special devices

My grandmother had one but it was lost or taken by other brothers and sisters. I used it every holiday when she asked me to grind pecans, walnuts, and other nuts for her baking. It kept me busy and reduced the amount of work she had to get done on vacation. Having grown up I still enjoyed keeping their jars in order as I also ate a few of the nuts before they were crushed. I bought this to remind myself and to store ground nuts around the house for the holidays.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • No.

Cheaply made and difficult to use

I decided to buy this more expensive nut grinder for the whole family only 3. But now that I've used it I'm very disappointed with this one purchase / gift. The handle mechanism doesn't provide enough torque to easily grind the twist - not even almonds. In addition, the pick-up area of the pre-crushed element is too small to produce large quantities on the production line. Finally, the metal used is thin, hard plastic is better to discard this product and move on to the next.

Pros
  • Easy set up
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

A nut grinder that really works with hard nuts

I liked how well the grinder could grind the almonds without deforming the blades. the top of the hole through which the nuts are inserted. It would be better if the container weren't so round and the edges of the lid were so thin. The glass portion of the grinder was difficult to hold and the top hurt my palm trying to cover the top with it. A lid would be great!

  • Beautiful construction

The trick is to use it upside down.

I bought this because it looks like the chopper my mom used when I was a kid. I tried using it as shown on the box, but the walnut halves are too big for chopping fingers to pinch. My first thought was that it was useless, but then I tried something else: I remembered that when my mother used hers, she would put nuts in a jar and turn it upside down. I tried this and it worked very well. Then the hack teeth could easily grab and chop the walnut halves. If you bought one and are not happy withโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • Not as good as it says

nut dust anyone? suitable for kitchen and dining room

This is a worthy nut grinder. I've used it with walnuts and pecans so far. Unfortunately, it comes out in small pieces and some nut dust; I wish it was rougher. The crank is a little awkward so you need to get a really good grip on it to use it properly. To use it properly, place whole nuts in a glass jar, then turn it upside down. with a metal case down over a bowl or plate of food and crank what you need. Sticking nuts in a piece of metal and crushing them in a glass jar like a lot of peopleโ€ฆ

Vintage Style Only - DOES NOT WORK like a vintage nut grinder

If you are looking to grind nuts into a jar this is perfect. This is not the behavior of old coffee grinders. Nut crushers in this design should be used with whole nuts in the tank, allowing for quick, on-demand grinding of toppings directly for sundaes, salads, cooking, etc. This nut crusher is specially designed for filling the hopper and grinding into the tank (non-standard threaded glass). The real problem is how this design change is implemented. The chopper is not suitable forโ€ฆ
