When did Rubbermaid decide to change the dimensions of this bin or the dimensions of their white ice turntables? These trays once fitted perfectly to the top of their containers, protecting the ice from airflow in the freezer, acting as a lid and allowing the trays to stack neatly. No longer. Sometimes there just isn't any "progress". Sometimes perfection cannot be improved upon. This is one of those moments.

I moved into a brand new apartment a few months ago. This time my freezer has an automatic ice maker which is nice. However, the ice container took up almost half of the shelf space. It wasn't working for my grocery store, so I was looking for an ice basket that wouldn't take up much space in my freezer. This ice basket works great! I put it on a closed ice tray. This ice cube basket can hold up to 4 ice cube trays. Seems pretty strong. Problem solved!

I purchased this basket of Rubbermaid Ice Cube Trays of the same brand as the Rubbermaid Easy Release Ice Cube Tray (4 PACKS). It works exactly as I expected and I have no complaints. I can store four trays of ice cubes from my ice cube trays in it. I haven't calculated the exact maximum capacity of ice cubes, but it depends on what you make your cubes out of.
