Rugged Ridge 11226.05 Elite Guard Kit, Black Tail Light for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK Review

The Wrangler 75th Anniversary shares specs with various Rubicon and Hard Rock items and these taillight protectors as above will not fit properly. The trim just doesn't fit. However, I was able to place the front guard assembly over the taillights and bolt it down using factory taillight bolts. It works well enough that only a particularly discerning eye can tell the difference since the entire shield assembly is not installed. The quality of the shields themselves is solid. No complaints.

I fitted this product to a Wrangler 2013 Unlimited Sport. The instructions provided explain how to install the product in a vehicle. First, there was no prior notice that each piece was made specifically for right or left hand use. I finally figured it out while going through the process of assembling it. I was about to give you the worst rating. They were a little tricky to attach to my hard rock addon. Rugged Ridge said I'm one of the few that doesn't fit the standard bolts. They ended up sending some that didn't quite fit the different hex style. I ended up buying a stainless steel Revain painted black. The first problem I had was that they weren't made right. The outer screws are threaded, but they didn't tap the threads on one side. The driver's side was threaded, but no holes were drilled on the passenger's side. The second problem I encountered is that in two hours of carving I could only get one bolt in three holes. I have used several Rugged Ridge accessories in the past and have always liked them, but this product seems to have flaws. I like the idea of a shield that completely blocks the light, but it just doesn't work in practice. Here are my complaints: 1.
