Will not fit Vintage RV Camper

Piston length is the only measurement for this item. Based on that I ordered the size that is currently on my RV. The new plunger and stopper are too big for my vintage RV. Bad choose! This product will not work with vintage camper trailers.

Poor fit - furniture parts and fittings

The pin end did not fit well in the rubber. I considered putting some lube on it but decided to see how well the old piece would fit as the ends were slightly different. It worked fine with this configuration. I'm sure it will work with the right lubrication, but I think it will cause the rubber to wear out faster. It was cheap so I'll ride it.

  • Pretty packaging

Bad POS - Furniture Parts & Hardware

Don't waste your money on this POS, I was very disappointed in its ability to grab and hold the camper door open. The problem is the pointy part that attaches to the wall, it is too pointy and doesn't grip firmly in the rubber part of the door. I remounted the old pointed end on the wall and voila it really holds up, I only ordered a 2 piece set as the old one looked pretty crappy. and the rubber on the door broke.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Not the best

Great, especially if you order the right size.

Can't fault it at all. They are exactly as described and arrived quickly. I wanted to replace the existing hardware on my 1983 Skamper Pop-up Truck Camper 080S. The original piece of rubber fell apart so I ordered. Unfortunately the butt didn't exactly match my original (the length is slightly different. I guessed, not measured) but that's my fault, not the product's fault. The rest of the screw holes line up perfectly, so no problem. there. It is worth noting that the shape of the piston is…

Wrong manufacturer's item

I purchased this Athlete's Handbook item through Revain. It was supposed to be a van front door holder, but instead it was a door latch mechanism. The clear box was never opened and the label even had a picture of the item I ordered, but the item inside was completely different. It was the manufacturer's fault, RV Designer, not Revain or The Sportsman's Guide. Sportsman's Guide support lady was very helpful in getting my money back. Since it costs more to send back than it's worth, I have to…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Faulty

Very disappointing.

Doesn't work well. The base is hollow and made of soft convex metal, which will deform quickly with normal and gentle use. When the base flexes (which it does almost instantly), the position of the butt changes and the alignment with the latch is seriously disrupted. Continued use will make alignment worse until it stops working altogether (although that never actually happens). Even with exact alignment, the holding capacity is very low. This prevents the door from closing due to gravity, but…
