Well solved my problem for Power & Electrical

I appreciate the quality and the precise fit and finish. However, I was puzzled by how difficult it was to insert individual wires into the slots for each terminal. I don't think they could have designed anything more complicated to install. That's the right design for an app, but a dumb design.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • I don't really like it, everything is fine

Working but no instructions

Instead of screws to secure wires in a socket, a set of narrow brass channels are used to cut the wire jacket and hold the conductor for connection. I had to search the internet to figure out how to press the wires to make the connection. This is the best description I can find for those who haven't seen the outlet.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • no.

no special tools required

This unit was an exact replacement for my Duplex Prime Time Crusader. I used large pliers to block the channel and a white back cover to push all three wires of the cable into place. I made two cables (the duplex output was in the middle of the circuit) separately using this technique. I was done in five minutes. The AC clamp can also be used to hold the white back cover in place.

Special tool required

To properly install this jack you will need a special branded crimping tool on the back of the jack. Too bad the seller didn't state this in the product description! I have also found many reviews on other websites stating that these outlets can be a fire hazard and are not legal in all states. I ended up using a regular outlet for what I needed. It was a waste of my time and money.

Pros
  • Decent performance

  • Not sure

Great replacement. Difficult to install

This is a great replacement for existing RV sockets. The only difficulty is that the wires require an expensive and hard-to-find tool. However, you can get creative and get them to push them in with a screwdriver, a piece of wood, and a hammer. I would suggest stranded wires before attempting to connect existing wires in the wall. After that they look good!

Pros
  • Free for educational institutions
Cons
  • Good but not great

Note my installation tips!

As others have said, this article isn't easy to install, but here are a few tricks that worked really well. Use a flathead screwdriver to insert the wires into the slots and push them in. After making this discovery, it was relatively easy. Next attach the back cover. If you're not Superman, this isn't going to happen. So what I've found is that if you take two pieces of wood, one in front, one in back, use a c-clip and tighten it, the back snaps into place fairly easily. It was a perfect…

  • Absolutely amazing!

  • Not bad, but...

Direct replacement in my class c rv

It appears to be a copy of the socket that burned out. For one, it's as simple as pulling out the old one and aligning the wires exactly as they were on this one. Umm, three hours later, after cutting out 2 1/2" x 2" blocks of wood and using them and some wire clips, I was finally done with the job. Paying $75 for a van spot to do this actually makes more sense to me lol! There is a tool you can buy to align and clamp the wires, but it costs about $40, so blocks of wood and clamps will work if…

  • Nice packaging

  • I don't remember
