It works great - I use it in places I can't use it or where I'm not comfortable with my compressor stapler. Worthwhile, who wants to use a hand stapler?
Love this stapler. It's a luxury, of course, but using a lot of staples makes my hands hurt a lot less at the end of the day than using a lever stapler.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the little safety device that allows you to attach the staple is quite delicate. It has to be compressed well, which is not always easy with a slight angle on soft material. If you can get a straight shot on a hard surface, you should be fine.
I'm not a carpenter by trade; I just love doing DIY projects. I buy Ryobi products mainly because they do the work for me and the cost is lower than higher quality products of their kind. I've used this in several of my projects and it's worked great. By the way, I have several Ryobi products that are 10-15 years old and still work fine.
We love all Ryobi tools and this one is no exception! My mother was looking for a new construction stapler and the prices seemed too high for the old cord brands. The Ryobi is a little heavier than expected, but that's the quality! The versatility, depth control, and freedom of movement without being tied to an outlet make it worth the money!
I am building my own poker table and needed an alternative to running my air compressor and using an air stapler to install the vinyl track and playing surface fabric. This ryobi not only did the job but exceeded my expectations. It clogs the T50 staples so well that when I had to redirect the Speed fabric a bit I had a really hard time removing some of them. The Revain was priced slightly higher than the HD, but that was my only real option as neither of these models are in stock.
This stapler suffers from the same stapler problem I had, regardless of manufacturer, poor staple advance. More than half of staples get stuck at work. I spend more time removing stuck staples from work than completing projects. This does not only apply to Rabi. I experienced the same with Dewalt, B&D and Arrow. No matter how much I have to spend to get a stapler that will properly feed and collect the staples all the way home. No worse than others, but no better either.
