Extremely useful and fast

If you want to add up to 4 drives to your computer without having to open the computer and connect its cables, then this is your baby. The benefit of this docking station is that you can physically insert and remove 3.5" drives and 2.5" SSDs with ease. This allows you to keep a stack of hard drives in your storage library at a much lower cost without having to purchase an enclosure. per storage unit. Just label them and organize them by file type (images, audio, documents, etc.) and save the…

So far, so good!

I have several Sabrent products and am inclined to recommend them to other potential buyers. I bought this (DS-U3B4) and a DS-4SSD which contains 4 x 2.5" drives. This product can hold both 2.5" and 3.5" drives, but I personally bought it for my 3.5" drives. The clone feature is an added bonus, but I still haven't used it to praise it. The size of the device is fairly small and manageable, which was one of my requirements, along with a dedicated power button on the back. The clone button on the

Absolute crap - hard drive accessories

Everything looked fine when I connected the device. Recognized by PC, lights up etc. I added 3 SSDs, 2 were brand new Samsung 870 EVO 1TB, one was the same model but with data on it. Shortly after that, the device signaled with a constant beep to connect/disconnect the device (you know that when you connect USB to PC). Again and again and again. Disk manager showed data drive (G), 2 new drives were shown but listed as unknown and unallocated. Disk manager didn't let me initialize 2 new disks…

Poor man's NAS, good solution, but hang in there.

Like. Converted Dell 7010 i7 3770. Picked up this 4-4TB Striped + Parity (RAID5) drive bay with ~9.83TB available redundancy on single failures. I buy refurbished WD 7200 RPM 3.5 SATA III drives for about $70 each. So around $400 for 9TB of storage. The writing time is considerable, the reading time quite good. Not that speed was my goal, the goal was volume and redundancy. But compared to that, it's like uploading large files to Google Drive. We hope that the memory upgrade will increase the…

I have been using this dock for several weeks for three main tasks: NAS backup, disk cloning and new disk setup. First backup. I plugged it into the front of an older Infrant (Netgear) ReadyNAS Pro 6. Then, in the ReadyNAS software, I mounted the number of drives placed in the dock and used the NAS's built-in backup feature to create a backup job. save the contents of my NAS to some "spare" hard drives before a major NAS conversion project. Great success, this product worked well and allowed me

Stay away from Sabrents for now

Just posting my experience in case it helps someone: I've had a Sabrent dual port dock for about 2-3 years and it worked pretty well, the only problem with her was that from time to time it randomly turned off, about every few weeks. Towards the end of its life it started doing this more often, sometimes even once a day, so I replaced it with an Orico dual port dock. The Orico worked great for about a year and a half and then suddenly died a few weeks ago, just wouldn't turn on anymore ($30 for

Sabrent 4-Bay USB 3.0 SATA 2.5"/3.5" SSD/HDD Drive Dock (DS-U3B4)The original intention of purchasing this docking station was to be able to create identical drives for BU purposes. It's easy to use and I like that the button to start cloning is on the front panel. Being able to make MULTIPLE clones (up to 3) was just a huge plus. But remember that if it takes 1 hour to clone one disk, it takes 1 hour to clone 3 disks (total 3 hours). I've also used this dock to run hard drives as extra storage
