Works perfectly. Short cables

My old monitor had two USB ports built in. That was great. I could use it for a Bluetooth receiver for headphones and a connector for my joystick and any other USB device. it was really handy. Now I've bought a new 27" gaming monitor. There are no USB ports. So let's get to the hub. I like the weight and durability of this thing. It sits on the table and is almost as convenient as the ports on the Monitor. BUT. I had to buy a much longer USB Type B to USB 3.0 cable. The one that came in the box

For computer accessories and peripherals

I bought it in January, the return period was closed in February, and now, at the end of May, it no longer works. When I first got it, all 4 ports were working fine. Then after just a few days only 3 were working. Last month we were running 2 ports, then one and now none. I understand this isn't an expensive device, but gosh, I was expecting more than a few months. This replaced one that worked fine for more than 2 years. It is only used to transfer files through flash drives. no heavy lifting!

This hub worked fine in my 2021 M1 when connected to another USB-C to USB-A hub. It is convenient to connect USB-A drives and devices to this hub, located on the stand under the monitor, for temporary use. The speeds seem to be good. The very bright status light that stays on even when the Mac is in sleep annoys me. The build quality is good. The cable is thick and strong. You can use a USB-A to USB-C cable (not included) if you want to connect directly to your new Mac. Suitable for me when you

Works well with no power for computer accessories and peripherals

This hub works great, I use it a lot for USB sticks and other items. I bought a Sabrent power supply for some devices that needed extra power, but after having strange problems with my machine, I found that the hub was powering my motherboard. For this reason I have to subtract the overall stars. I love the design and aesthetics, but the same issue was reported 5 years ago on another Sabrent hub and it's still unresolved. https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R3AKI1GZN08ET9/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_โ€ฆ

but it's better than the alternative

This hub works great with my 2013 iMac with one caveat: as mentioned, this USB 3.0 device interferes with my WiFi. When I use this hub, my iMac cannot access the internet over my wireless network. It claims to support connectivity (for macOS) but I can't access anything over the network. To make sure this is the case, I ran an experiment: if I put my hand on the hub and made sure to close it completely, my connection would resume. . My guess is that the hub or hub/cable connection interface isโ€ฆ

The pictures are not the same

Disgusting manufacturer. I've had cases where manufacturers provided incorrect product information/images or simply didn't want to sell you anything significantly different than what is listed. I have several of these from a few years ago and the logo was below. The photos now show the logo on the BACK. Well, that's completely wrong. There is now an ugly logo on the FRONT. The whole point of these hubs is the decent/clean look (like a Mac). It is not. I'm tempted to just keep my old ones andโ€ฆ

A good USB hub is just a few questions

I love this USB hub. I love the fact that it has a detachable USB cable, the aluminum body, the rubber grommet that helps keep it in place, and the fact that the ports are well spaced. What I didn't like is that the LED is very bright. This will likely be a nuisance if your computer is in your computer at night. Fortunately, this is fairly trivial to fix. The rubber pad on the underside comes loose and you can access the case by loosening the two Phillips screws. No need to trim anything - theโ€ฆ

Nice hub but don't use with power supply!

I bought this hub and it works great. However, attached USB drives will not transfer at full USB 3 speeds. This is normal when the hub is not powered. So I bought the matching Sabrent power supply (PS-5V4A). Increased transfer speeds. I was happy. But when the hub is plugged into the PC and the adapter is plugged in too, it causes some strange behavior. On my XPS laptop, this means that other devices connected to my USB don't work when booting. Sometimes HDMI, sometimes my keyboard, etc. Theโ€ฆ

Not what I expected - AT ALL.

I bought this so I don't have to plug and unplug items on the back of my iMac. Its style and appearance is very elegant and conforms to Apple devices. The cable connecting it to the computer is so thick and inflexible that the connector can't sit flat under my screen. I'm sure it will adjust over time, but it's still pretty annoying. Something that was not advertised at all in the product description is that it is low light. A bright downward light that stays on while the computer is on. Iโ€ฆ
