🍳 SAIOOL 1 Gallon Large Glass Food Storage Jars with Airtight Lid - Egg Jar Canister, Clear Review

Although this 'cookie tin' is a little larger than we need, we really like it. The sealed wooden lid is very beautiful. The silicone ring at the bottom of the glass reduces the chance of it tipping over or slipping off the frame. Please note that the jug is NOT dishwasher safe and must be CAREFULLY hand washed using the tool provided.

I was looking for a glass mason jar but it came up on offers and I decided to give it a try. Well, my purchase was worth it! The lid is airtight, and while the jar doesn't look thick, it's actually very strong. I love that it comes with a rubber band that you can put on the bottom of the jar to prevent tearing.

I've been looking for a glass wide enough to hold a 1 cup measuring spoon - this one fits! It's also big enough to hold an entire 64 ounce bag of almond flour 👍 I also used the second jar to store two bags of dog treats as my husband forgets to close the bag. Note though that the colors of the lids vary - unfortunately the dog treat is a bit more yellow than I wanted compared to the almond flour jar, but I can easily flip it :)

Honest review: I love these glasses! They are functional and look great! The tops fit well and are easy to put on and take off. The glass is a bit thin but I had no problems. As soon as I received them I washed and stuffed them. As long as my kids leave them alone, I think they're fine. Love the large jar and the variety of sizes you can add. Update: I applied cedarwood essential oil to the lid, then several coats of polyacrylic. Finally got rid of the smell. (Things that didn't work: airing, soap and water, baking soda and/or vinegar). It holds exactly 1 5 pound sack of flour. Smells awful. I was able to get the smell out of the jar with a simple hand wash, but with the lid it's a different story. I had to soak the gasket in vinegar for hours. I don't know how to get the smell out of the wooden lid. If I can't figure it out, I'll…

I bought these to replace the plastic container I used to keep my dog food. (The plastic also gets on the food without heating. Plastic gone!). So it's big enough to hold a reasonable amount, the lid opens and closes easily to keep the contents fresh, and I LOVE the rubber seal at the bottom of the jar to protect it when it's on a (granite )Worktop is placed, or to prevent it from slipping. It can be a bit heavy when full, and I keep it on the top shelf in my closet to keep it from slipping out
