They work well until they stop working

No wonder you take two! Over time, the cables develop internal intermittent breaks where they enter the connectors. I have ordered these several times for use with my Garmin Nuvi which I use for about 10 hours 5 nights a week. I have used 4 of these cables in about 7 months. They're cheap and not worth returning, but it's important to realize that for mobile (on-the-go!) use, they're essentially "consumables".

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

Cheap and works!

Two for $6.99 the best. Works great as a USB host adapter. Tested with OpenPandora handheld just fine. The only thing that surprised me is that it was technically supposed to have a mini-AB connector and not a mini-B connector, but it still works fine and shouldn't have any impact. The USB connector has a lot of resistance to plugging things in, but I'm sure it will get easier with time.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Drives me crazy

Quality product but I made a mistake

I bought this product without understanding the difference between Micro USB and Mini USB; Unfortunately I couldn't use this for my devices as they all use micro USB. This is my fault and says nothing about the quality of this product. When trying to use the connector I noticed that the female end was very tight. It was almost difficult to connect my USB plug as I met some resistance, but that might be because it's a brand new product. Once plugged in, it holds the USB very securely so it will…

  • Easy setup
Cons

Can charge a Garmin 500 while riding with no data loss

I was able to use this on a Garmin Edge 500 bike computer and it worked charging the device without starting charge mode, not moving. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the cable detached from my Garmin (not really the cable's fault) and when I plugged the cable back in, my ride reset! (I traveled 205 miles, traveled 422 miles, ahh!). I do not know what happened. I had a moment while driving where I had to pull out the charger again and the next time it worked great. I also had…

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Useless features

Great for cables and accessories

I bought this product to connect a standard USB connector to a mini USB connector. Until this need, I didn't realize there was a difference between "mini" and "micro" even though I have both devices. This converter worked great and allowed me to hook up a VCDS (Ross-Tech) code reader for VW to an old Armor X-7 computer I found on eBay. It worked great. I was looking for one with a 90 degree (right angle) fork but settled on this straight version. Secure the cable with tape or glue to avoid…

Pros
  • Universal 5-pin USB to USB adapter with molded construction for durability. The USB to 5-pin USB converter makes it easy to adapt existing cables to your needs. The 5 Pin USB Adapter is fully compatible with USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 ports: USB Female and Mini USB 5 Pin Male USB Female to Mini B Male Adapter. The connection is common in digital cameras.
