I guess most one star reviews are accurate. Cons: No separate handle. The band does not support the desired length/configuration. This bag is good in theory but not very well executed. The straps don't stay in place. The clasp closes with difficulty. Although I knew it would be bigger than I wanted, I also found it a downfall. I've been looking A LOT for a convertible backpack for a trip to Italy this spring. This is the one I chose because of its occurrence in both states; it looks like a cute travel backpack and also makes sense considering it as a shoulder bag or tote bag. I bought this bag because my mother bought it in brown from Macy's and I really liked it. I already tried to verify my personal purchase and they removed it so I will double check. Really good leather and great overall concept but there are a few design flaws that make it ok. First, if you shorten the straps to carry the bag over your shoulder, they don't stay in place, so even a tall woman like me is always walking around with a bag slapping her hips instead of being comfortably hip-to lie.
