I wanted to paint with pastels and paint together. I painted the sky, I added highlights with a pencil when I just needed a line, or with pastel for thicker highlights.

Still looks like crayon, very thick and heavy. After smearing it to blend it looks good. Slightly more waxy than some I've used, which means they don't blend as well as others. For school art they are great. For something more professional, you probably need more mixing options.

Daughter used this product on canvas. Easy to use and vibrant colors look great on your canvas. She didn't have to press hard or anything to use them, just applied regular pressure to get them to write/color. The product has worked very well so far and seems extremely easy to use. I would definitely recommend this product to others for arts and crafts.

I've been buying these expressionist oil pastels for years and love the rich colors. They are a good size and will last for years. I gave them to an aspiring young artist and she loves them. Soon I will take a bigger set so there will be more flowers. If you layer several colors on top of each other, the pastel becomes very malleable and you can manipulate it on paper.

Trust me, you'll want to try this! They create such vibrant artistic creations and look like adult super pigmented crayons! I suggest you watch a short oil pastel video tutorial to learn how easy it is to mix colors together and vary the print. After a little practice you will love the result! (Watch how you run your hands over your drawing - just like chalk crayon, it can be a little messy!)
