Solid but very changed

I have been wearing Salomon XA Pro 3D for many years. They climbed many mountains, gave me PR and helped me climb 14s. This v8 is not the shoe we believe in. I don't know why shoe manufacturers seem determined to change their favorite shoes, but they do. This v8 is slightly lighter as described. This weight loss is small and unnecessary. But it's not the same. It felt and looked different, so I measured the shoes with calipers. It's narrower and a little longer. It seems a bit less stable (but…

Pros
  • The 3D chassis offers excellent support and stability
Cons
  • Limited Customer Support

Slightly tall (not wide)

I run about 30 miles a week. For the past few months, I've been running around town with them, through grass and mud. In general very very satisfied. The only criticism is that the sock is too big which can rub the toes and feet a bit. For 10k that's no problem. That's a big problem for a marathon.

Pros
  • It fits perfectly and is comfortable. Salmon is my favorite food when it comes to shoes.
Cons
  • slippery sole

Met all my expectations

It fits my husband with duck 🦆 and now his feet don't hurt anymore so keep it up. I could not find these shoes in any retail store and they were delivered very quickly.

Pros
  • Good wide stable shoes
Cons
  • Poor grip on wet surfaces

Based on my rating, I would not buy again

Have had it for almost two months and wear it to work every day. They're already pouring in from above, and my work isn't so intense that they only do it after two months. Not satisfied with the quality for the price. Otherwise it's comfortable and fits well.

Pros
  • Well done. Very stable. Comfortable
Cons
  • Okay, I have a lot of Solomons, but this shoe has no grip. I'm sorry.

Lightweight and breathable

This shoe offers a great combination of rough terrain and professional environments. Useful for a variety of needs. Not all are actually that waterproof, so if that's a big deal to you, inject it with something to help in that department.

Pros
  • Comfortable durable shoes
Cons
  • Uncomfortable fit

Why the loss of quality?

In the last 2 years I have bought 3 pairs of these sneakers, in different colors, 2 of the 3 pairs are 2 years old and still cool. Obviously the quality has dropped significantly in this latest version. Why do manufacturers do this to their customers? So disappointing.

Pros
  • This is one of the best work shoes I have ever worn. It's comfortable and durable too.
Cons
  • Not suitable for all areas

Very satisfied in my opinion

I've had 6 pairs of Salomons and 4 out of 6 had a comfy shoe lacing system that works great. I hike, bike and wear them in my very active outdoor life. My lifestyle is very shoe-heavy and I wouldn't buy any other shoes.

Pros
  • Fits like running shoes, true to size, breathable, durable, will buy another pair
Cons
  • Unreliable traction

Great shoe in every way

They were the perfect shoes. They fit exactly how I wanted, my size, I had no breakage and they held up to a quick rope workout. They didn't chew the inner arch. I wear them for running and weightlifting. Great shoe in every way

Pros
  • Excellent traction provides extra grip on slippery or uneven surfaces
Cons
  • Can cause Shin Splints

I've worn these shoes and previous versions every day, as well as go-anywhere shoes, for many years. I appreciate the convenience and speed of the lacing system, as well as the durability of the upper, especially the collar, which has always worn out quickly on my other shoes. The tread in the ball of the foot seems to wear down faster in these shoes than I would like but that may be because they are designed for trail running and I wear them everywhere including asphalt, concrete etc. The worn

Pros
  • Sensifit technology ensures a secure and comfortable fit around the foot.
Cons
  • Can cause heel blisters

Probably my 10th pair. Wrong shoe

I've bought them in the Gore-Tex version many times over the years. They are my favorites and I have tried many other lightweight running shoes. However, this mesh version is terrible. The zigzag pattern on the side (the non-mesh part) has a sturdy, abrasive stitching that digs deep into your feet on both sides and even the top of your feet. There are blisters and almost artificial cuts on the legs - oops! I suspect this is part of the "v8" redesign they are pushing. As this is the first time…

Pros
  • The shoe's design is versatile and can be used for a variety of activities, including hiking and walking.
Cons
  • May cause back pain or discomfort

Xa Pro: my rating in my rating

I am a firefighter and wear them on my shift, they are perfect. Very comfortable and have great traction. The only complaint is that the sock is a little big, but not so much that it can't be worn.

Pros
  • Great shoes, immediately comfortable, feet feel stable and secure, they look long and narrow but are comfortable in them.
Cons
  • The old ones were great. With a pair you could walk at least half of the Appalachian Trail. These suck.

Poor quality in my rating

I wonder if I've been sold fakes. After about 2 weeks the paint started to peel off the plastic side panels. The "lacing system” has lost its grip and now needs to be pulled very tight, putting a lot of excess slack in the shoes. Uncomfortable in shoes. After 4 weeks they started to creak when walking. I thought they were good shoes but I am very dissatisfied with the quality.

Pros
  • Closely
Cons
  • Not strong enough for frequent use

Very uncomfortable best in shoes

I bought these shoes so I can walk in them. However, since I put them on for the first time, they have been very rough on my feet. The shoes are hard and uncomfortable. After two hours of rowing, my legs swell and hurt. I do not recommend. The quality seems to be normal, but it is uncomfortable to wear.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Doubt

Amazing trail and city shoes

I've waited to write a review until I've ridden them a few miles. I have wide, sweaty feet and it's phenomenal. They are ventilated, very comfortable and withstand rock falls and long hikes. Definitely recommend and repurchase or repurchase when they die. I've had similar Salomon boots for 8 years so I have confidence in the company and the build.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Some minor issues

Not comfortable. Best in Athletic

Measurements mostly correct; But even in the wide version, the inner forefoot fits perfectly into the medial wedge shape (beginning of the big toe). The materials are not very pleasant. Quick laces are good. They are tight at the heel. I don't think I can walk in them because of the comfort. The price of these dropped almost 25% in the time I ordered and due to comfort issues. I would not recommend this model. You need extra cushioning.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Can't remember

13 Wide fit well but be careful with laces.

Haven't used them long enough to judge durability but so far so good. The wide size seems wide. I have had other shoes where the width was poorly done but these seem to be fine. I don't like lacing. This is an adjustable, thin, non-replaceable cord instead of shoelaces. I didn't notice before ordering. It's good the cord didn't snap and if they don't snap I'll be glad, but if they snap you won't be able to tuck the laces in and that's going to be a problem.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • I'm writing back

New model not as good as previous versions

Have been wearing the Salomon XA Pro 3D for several years with great results. This is my fourth pair - the previous ones lasted 2-3 years each in the harsh conditions of mountains and desert areas. This pair began to fall apart after about 6 months of daily use on similar terrain. The entire mesh upper has rotted and become unusable. This model has always been great, but the redesign seems to have been less than impressive - grab an older design if you can find one.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons

The new version is different from the old one

I wear these shoes all the time and I like them, but this new version seems to have changed completely. It was very narrow at the heel and not as wide as before. I also used custom insoles in the previous version, but unfortunately this new shoe is not deep enough for insoles other than the ones that come with the kit. Now I'm looking for another brand that would suit me. I don't understand why they change anything, but it's okay.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Hard to say

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Much better than Mer.

Pros: Much better than M. a popular competitor Makes another brand seem like a shoe to share. Wear them to work on rooftops. Grip, comfort, breathability and support are very good. Although I have flat feet, this is the only brand of work shoe that I don't wear Superfeet in. Cons: Almost no profile in 5 months. Would be a "great" shoe if Salomon would do without the asymmetrical lacing. The asymmetrical lacing creates strange folds in the toe area. While the crease isn't uncomfortable, it…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled
