great little stand!

This is a really great mic stand, very well made! The only downside I can find is that the mic clip adapter might need some work. It clamps the SM57 quite well, but the screw that controls the up or down rotation of the microphone isn't very good. The mic sometimes falls off and the screw is difficult to tighten (reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I would have preferred 4.5 stars but can't choose that!). However, if you wish, you can replace the default clip with a different one. In general, this

This stand is very solid, easy to adjust and all the parts and handles feel well built and sturdy. And if you don't need a lot of height (over 40 inches), this stand is perfect for use in small, tight spaces. I bought this stand to replace a regular sized tripod stand that was taking up a lot of space and floor space. B. in my home studio office. This stand is perfect for what I need most: picking up small combo amps and acoustic instruments that I play while seated. The only negative is the…

A quality stand for its price range. I use this stand as a bass drum mic stand for very frequent gigs and in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings so far with no issues. It has all the necessary adjustment points to place the mic anywhere on the bass, regardless of size. The only criticism I have of this stance is that the adjustment screw on the main boom (up and down directions) needs to be fairly tight to ensure it stays in place in the event of an accidental kick. I suspect this is…

To be honest I am shocked by the quality of this shelf. As a lifelong musician, I'm used to paying insane prices for anything that remotely works as advertised. To be honest I'm not that used to the fact that what I'm paying for this stand can be more than what I need. Where was it when I paid $70 for a telescopic stand made in China? I'm not complaining! There's no fair way to complain that you get 10x the quality product you paid for based on the price, but I was really looking for a cheap…

Compares well to more expensive brands

My first desktop mic was the slightly more expensive Proline model at around $31. I am very happy with it. When I had to add another one I thought I'd try a brand that's almost half the price of Proline just for comparison, but it was out of stock. I saw this Samson MB1 and liked the reviews so I decided to give it a try. In fact, I like it a little more than Proline. Setting aside the Samson's $6 price advantage, it performs very well in every category. In fact, it's better in some areas. In…

Great general purpose dart for the price

My realistic rating for this would be 4.5 stars if it was an option. This is based on its value for the price. I've worked with live amplification for over 30 years, back when old Atlas stands with a cast iron base and cast iron counterweight that had to be tightened with pliers to keep it in place were the go-to choice. For a small booth, this one works great. Since the product description doesn't contain any meaningful options, I've added some detailed options at the end of this review. In…
