I would not recommend this monitor even if you are just starting out in gaming. There are so many other great entry-level monitors out there that make this one look like cheap junk. Save money and buy a good gaming monitor.

Pretty inconspicuous monitor from Samsung. Despite being advertised as a gaming monitor, there are much better options out there for the same price - ones that offer the latest connectivity standards, IPS panels and brighter displays, all without the backlight glare that this monitor suffers from. While the Odyssey G3 offers above-average contrast, it's almost useless without a brighter display. TL; DR - Nothing to see here folks. Go forward. I liked this monitor so much that I bought my girlfriend a second one after she saw mine. We both work from home and the fact that he takes turns at work makes our job easier. I've had mine for almost a month now and no problems.

This Odyssey G3 from Samsung sits at the end of the Odyssey series, below the G5.
