I am delighted, the product is really worthy.

The photo is quite nice and beautiful! The same Olympus 12mm looks clearly worse in the stars. The lens is good for night and astronomical landscapes. BUT it was not without tar, a little refinement is required. Photo examples: ? nc=user ? nc=user ? nc=user ? nc=user

Pros
  • Light, clear, light, wide. In difficult conditions (dampness and moisture) little susceptible to fogging Hyperfocal to infinity starts at about 5m. Everything is clear and easy to set up except for some little things.
Cons
  • 1. The lens hood is weak - I had to glue a piece of electrical tape. 2. Mark infinity by - I had to make a white mark in the right place. 3. There is a small coma at the edges, but clearly less than other widths. 4. Days in the bright Sun glare .

Well built manual lens, good image quality

Well built, bright lens with detachable/reversible lens hood and delicate cloth case. Excellent image quality in the center even at full aperture. Significantly cheaper than the Olympus 12mm f2, for example. Recommended for astrophotography. Like other Samyang/Rokinon lenses, it doesn't have electronics: manual iris, manual focus (but the ultra-wide angle has a large depth of field, so it's not that important). 67mm filters are used. Unfortunately there are no focus markings and no depth of…

Everything would be fine, but my copy is defective

I received a bad copy. It wasn't able to focus decently at every distance or setting. While my sample was good, I'm not sure how to get sharp focus on my OM-D E-M5. When focus looked normal, all frames were blurry. I tried it in astrophotography as every lens needs to be able to focus at infinity. nope Blobs instead of dots. Color rendition was good though, so I think someone who gets a working copy of this lens will be pretty happy with it. I'm not that lucky. Two stars for color rendering…

Good picture quality; really fun lens to use

Several pictures included. The first was on f5,6, the second on f4 and the third I don't remember. I really like this lens. I bought it thinking I'd see all the hype and just return it if it doesn't live up to expectations, but I have to say I really love this product. It's a fairly heavy lens and feels like it's of decent quality. The optics are not bad, except for glare. I think they may have missed some of the premium coatings that would be on glass on more expensive lenses. It doesn't…
