This lens delivers sharpness and high contrast. If you can focus manually, this is an excellent lens at an affordable price. This and the 135mm are my favorite lenses. The build quality is solid. It's also a very fast lens that offers excellent bokeh.

The lens is optically great and the build quality is superb. The only downside is that the lens hood falls off with normal use. With a focal length of only 35mm, a lens hood is a must and I have to tape it in place or it will fall off.

I only have fixed focal lengths in my backpack, but this one here is incredibly contrast, sharpness, bokeh unbelievable, too colorful than 50mm 1.4, maybe 85mm 1.8 comes closer. The 14mm 2.8, also from the same brand under the opteka brand, does the job well, but this has become my favorite.

The lens is normal, not great, but not bad either. The only reason I gave such a bad review is because of the price. For what it is I find it overpriced. I have a few other cheaper lenses that I just wanted to try and for capturing photos of the same quality as a $99 lens it's not great. So in general everything is simple. But the pictures are good.

I like this lens a lot. I would give 5 stars. Got on sale with the 85mm version. It takes great photos, great color, great sharpness, minimal distortion, that's all you need. Well assembled, works great. Bottom line is I like this one, I really don't like the 85mm. So I don't know if it's due to model differences or maybe just poor quality control across the board. So I'm deducting a star for that. I like the 85 so much I don't even feel I should resell it. But my 35mm copy is fantastic.

I just have to say that with the right use of this lens you can get amazing results. If you don't need autofocus, this lens is definitely a good choice. Don't be afraid to use manual focus, it gets easier with practice; I actually find it quite pleasant. It's very sharp from f/4 to f/10 and not bad at apertures larger than f/4.
