Two failures in just two years!

Two of them broke in just two years! I bought two of these from Revain and installed them in a RAID 1 array. Performance was good. But one of them failed in less than a year. I called the manufacturer (SANDISK) who replaced it within a few days. The exchange worked well. Now my RAID is showing "Degradation" in the BIOS. Yes, one of them failed. I don't know if it was the original I ordered from Revain or a replacement - they look identical. But now I've lost faith in this brand! I just want to…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Annoying

Cons: These are not the fastest SSDs available today, February 2016. They are based on the SandForce chipset and this is an issue for some. Pros: They are cheap and come in small sizes with good value for money. For me, that makes them the perfect upgrade for the rotating grate on older machines. Especially those computers that work as servers or embedded machines. My favorite use for these SanDisk SSD Plus drives is updating spinning drives on Linux.

Great price great boost for older laptops

I bought two of these to use in some older laptops and see how much performance I can get from them. Neither laptop was up to date, so while it's not top of the list in terms of performance, it's a solid brand and the price is right (it was cheaper than most other 240GB laptops at the time of purchase SSD). an old Turion x2 laptop with Windows Vista. Since I didn't have a recovery disk for Vista and didn't want to spend too much time on it, I simply transferred the disk to the SSD using Macrium

Drive failed without warning

This drive has been working almost flawlessly since it was purchased in 2015. Today, May 8th, 2020, the situation has changed. I used to be using my computer to browse Chrome when Windows crashed with a blue screen of "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED". After rebooting, I was greeted with a horrible boot error "NTLDR is missing". The next step was to download the Windows 10 ISO so I could try to fix it. The recovery program saw the drive and said it had 0 bytes of capacity. After that I tried to read the…
