Failed then almost caught fire

Worked great in my GoPro Hero 6 then stopped working (card error) and when I connected it to my Mac to diagnose it got so hot it that I burned my finger trying to take it out.

Other packaging: computer accessories and peripherals

The packaging does not match the photo. The adapter is not fixed but the packaging says it is faster than advertised but I would appreciate if I get what is advertised!
