Perfect even after a year

If you're wondering whether the extreme series from Sandisk is worth the money, then it is. I've been using this card for over a year (with a Canon 5DMKII) and haven't had any issues with data corruption or data loss. In terms of performance, of course, the 5DII only shoots at no more than 4 frames per second, but it is large. However, I never feel like I have to wait for the card to be written when taking a series of pictures. The transfer speed to my Macbook is reasonable considering the…

Excellent CF Card in CompactFlash Cards

I have been using this 16GB UDMA card for a number of years with the Canon 7d which I bought when this camera first came out. I forgot I bought this card from Revain but tonight when I was going through my reviews I remembered how much I took this card for granted. I shoot in RAW so the files are quite large for each 18MP shot. The 16GB size contains all my photos as well as HD videos, some of which are over 1GB. This card is fast and reliable, which is something I always expected from SanDisk…

Allows me to shoot at high speed with my DSLR - never had a problem

I take a lot of photos with the Nikon D300. I often use high speed (6 fps) for sporting events and especially for fishing shots (jumping sailboats, sharks, tarpoons, etc.) when fishing with a friend. This memory card is fast enough that I have an almost unlimited buffer on many high-speed shots, and it's paid dividends on some of my fishing photos in calendar posts. Never had any speed or data corruption issues and my D300 is used at least weekly and sometimes daily especially during the many…

Great performance at a great price

I've been using SanDisk CF cards since 2002 and have never had any problems with them. Last year I started swapping out my slower 8GB cards for 16GB Extreme cards. Then I bought two tickets for an average price of about $90. Yesterday I saw that they cost less than $75 so I loosened my wallet a bit to buy another one. I shoot in RAW with my Nikon D700 and all files are around 25MB. I like not changing cards too often. If you're looking for a solid memory card, this card probably won't…

Works great on my Nikon D700

I recently bought a Nikon D700 and had to buy a CF card. I've used Sandisk SDHC cards a lot in the past, so I didn't spend a lot of time trying to figure out which brand to buy. Sandisk memory cards are very reliable. While Nikon's official suggestion is to only use 8GB and 64GB cards for the Nikon D700, after reading many online forums, including here at Revain, I have come to the conclusion that 16GB and 32GB cards work fine. If it helps, I'm using the latest firmware installed in the D700…

Good card but speed (when recording) is the same as 30mb/s card

I use this card with my Canon 7d and have had it without for almost 10 months problems. Ultimately, that's the only thing I really don't want in card.failure. And I didn't have to worry about this card. This card is reliable and fast enough. However, I also bought a 30MB/s card from the same manufacturer and didn't notice any difference in recording speed. I understand that at this stage the speed usually depends on loading images, but that doesn't bother me much. If I had to do it again I…

Good card has held up so far but died after 27 months

I am an amateur photographer and bought a SanDisk 16GB 60MB/s SDCFX-106-A61 card to use in my Canon 7D to use. I've never had performance issues with the card. The 7D can capture a short burst of RAW images at 8fps, and the card never slowed it down. There were also no problems with HD videos at 60 fps. The size of 16 GB is both a plus and a minus. You can store an incredible amount of images, but the downside is that you also have a lot to lose if the card fails. My first clue that the map was

Sandisk Extreme CF Card

I've equated SanDisk with black and white filters, Canon cameras, Sony TVs and Yamaha receivers. Buy the best and they will perform best. Try to cut corners and save some money by risking an extra investment of time and money that I don't have enough to play with. SanDisk has never let us down and this particular model is more than adequate for our needs. This is our second 16 gig. Mom has 4-4GB SanDisks and I'm saving 32 in case she wants to make videos. I have thrown away or given away over…

retail packaging. for CompactFlash cards

From other reviews I found that it is difficult to determine the value (quality and reliability) of a card in the short term, not in the long term. That being said I will amend my review accordingly if I run into any issues in the future. I read in some reviews that others received the product in a zippered bag. It would suck and I would be disappointed if it happened to me. Some were even new. So the best I can offer you at the moment is that mine came in complete, unopened retail packaging…

Best SanDisk I've ever used

I started the Ultra II series in 2005 and have been selling them and updating them as needed. I'm currently using a Canon 5D Mark II with HD video (I think we all already know that), but the camera also creates a 30MB RAW file every time I click the shutter button. So the writing speed is very important. I used Extreme IV series cards (45MB/s) and even at the slower 4fps in the 5D2 the camera hung after a few shots to write data. With these new 16GB Extreme cards I can now hold the shutter…
