NOT USB 3.2 and damaged packaging

Both the packaging and case label and manufacturer confirm this is a 3.1 drive, not a 3.2 drive. I connected it. Tech support wasn't fantastic but acceptable.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Compatibility

Okay: Datastore

That's it, pretty good. The speed when you use it on a new iMac is slower than other hard drives, obviously slower than an SSD, but still not as fast overall. That's fine, and it seems like there might be some repercussions if you drop it, but for now, invest in an SSD and not these baddies.

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons

Nice Armored Drive for Mac

The drive comes with a solid rubber bumper to protect it when I'm out and about with my iPad Pro. At home I remove the bumper and use it on my Mac Mini. It is formatted for Mac, it can be easily reformatted for Windows. So far that's a lot of drive in a small package for what it is. Remember this is a hard drive, not an SDD...it has moving parts.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Nothing here

A great upgrade from a previous model!

No problem! I have a previous G-Tech ArmorATD and this new one is just as smooth and faster than the previous one (blue). I just transferred 1TB from my MacBook Pro to the drive in just over an hour with 1.2 million files. The package arrived in perfect condition and includes USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB adapters. (The previous model had an adapter for a regular USB.) Everything suits me!

Pros
  • Data memory
Cons
  • thin

I love her. on external hard drives

I have 30 TB hard drives. Plus another 30TB of identical backups. I've been building my databases for over a decade now, using a variety of drives. I prefer western digital these days and will never touch a LaCie hard drive again in my life. I took a chance and bought them as I was one of the first to buy them. I haven't had them long enough to say yes or no, but so far they're both the best discs I've owned. I really like her. I'll probably throw out my old drives and replace them with these…

Pros
  • External hard drives
Cons
  • Large and bulky
