Robust, quirky and different

Overall I really like this shoe. It was a bit crowded at first, but over time everything calmed down. Nice, just put on and go. Nice and waterproof but that means there is no breathability so it does get a little warm. The grip is great, the experience of walking on the rocks along the beach was great. I walked around in them at Snowdon and the experience was good but they didn't support my ankle very well but they're not really designed for that so I took a chance but I did. The rubber is…

Pros
  • Not only is it the most comfortable shoe I have, it is also more durable.
Cons
  • These are ridiculously bad shoes - good as a joke gift for someone you want to upset or disappoint.

Too stiff for hiking shoes

The idea was to use these shoes for long walks in wet weather but they are not flexible and cannot be bent but with a lot of two handed effort they are actually too stiff. I considered jumping through the standard hoops and sending them back, but after some thought and an attempt to let them go, I decided to take the loss as a good lesson. So I threw them in the trash because I'm not doing anyone any favors by donating them to charity.

Pros
  • Great overall product and service, 5 stars
Cons
  • Feel like a clown. Gigantic. I have three pairs of Sanuk sandals/trainers and I love them. I had to go back immediately.

Natural comfort with enhanced weather protection

I wear these boots in my office for comfort in everyday life or at work. As with all Sanuk shoes, I love the wide toe box and zero drop design.

Pros
  • Functions
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for formal occasions.

Comfortable and waterproof

The fit is a little larger than expected, but that's not all the Thinker sock can fix. The only thing is that the top of the boot started tearing along the seam. This is where my leg comes in. The rest of the boot definitely lives up to its waterproof performance. Very convenient.

Pros
  • perfect sanuk shoes for every season
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for people who require arch support.

Built-in and durable rubber boots are not real boots.

They are very different from traditional sidewalk surfers (like Vagabond, Pick Pocket). Traditional Sanuk styles are known for their comfort and a somewhat minimal travel that gives your feet the freedom to move naturally - they don't. Chiba Journey LX is very tall and wide. Dark olive is lighter than pictured. The sole is chunky, stiff, square and wider than the upper of the shoe. The upper of the shoe is so stiff that it struggles with the movement of my foot with every step. Because the sled

Pros
  • Bought as a Christmas present for my son - he loves it! Very comfortable and stays dry when it rains.
Cons
  • The price of shoes may be too high for some people

This is my fifth pair of Sanuk shoes that I have bought in the past year. Now I can say that SANUK is MY FAVORITE SHOE COMPANY out of the 6 or 7 companies I shop from. I have two more pairs of Sanuk shoes in my eBay basket and they will sell out within a week!

Pros
  • Yes?
Cons
  • Shoes may not be durable enough for people who engage in high-intensity activities.

Terrible fit no matter the size

It was terribly uncomfortable. Any Sanuk purchase is a gamble because their sizes vary so much from one model to the next. I've been wearing this brand for 12 years and every year it only gets worse. Don't buy their shoes without a free Prime return. 11 were huge. The 10s were very tight in the forefoot and sides, but my heel kept slipping. If I wore them for an hour, my heel would bleed from the up and down rubbing of the boot. I absolutely hated them and can't imagine recommending them to…

Pros
  • Great for hiking.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be breathable enough for people who sweat excessively.

Very good comfortable shoes "But "

I already have some Sanuk shoes without problems. These rubber shoes are very comfortable. They seemed very well constructed and waterproof until I felt some moisture on the inside of the left boot. I hardly wore them until last month and both are tearing on the inside where the shoe flexes in front of the arch where the toes flex. I have two pairs, black and brown. I didn't wear the tan alone, but 4 times. So after hoping to get some waterproof camper shoes I now need to see if I can get…

Too stiff for walking shoes

The idea was to use these shoes for long walks in wet weather but they are not flexible and you cannot bend them but with great difficulty with both hands, they are actually too hard. I considered jumping through the standard hoops and sending them back, but after some thought and an attempt to let them go, I decided to take the loss as a good lesson. So I threw them in the trash because I'm not doing anyone any favors by donating them to charity.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Difficult to put on leg.

They are perfect except for the time it takes to put them on your foot. The interval sock gets stuck in my heel and I have to get it out of the boot before I put my foot in the boot.

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Fragile

They don't stay on their feet

I bought them for hiking and they are terrible. They are very heavy and do not stay on their feet. I even tried the smaller size and they still slide at every stop. I would not recommend it.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Don't really like them, everything is fine

Not A sneaker is the best among men

This is an attractive shoe described as a sneaker with a canvas upper. Upon receipt I found these to be 100% rubber boots with no arch support and much wider than normal. On the manufacturer's website, Sauk describes them as 100% Yulex rubber and neoprene wellies. They are quite stiff and much heavier than canvas shoes.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Durable, edgy and cool

Let me start by saying that these boots are very edgy and definitely not for everyone. The size doesn't fit that well. I usually wear a size 10 on the Sanuks and a size 10.5 when half sizes are available, but on the Chiba Journey, a size 9 fits perfectly. I think they're worth their full price, but Revain's semi-sale makes them more than worth it. They are made from vegetable rubber and are virtually odorless. They are difficult but easy to climb. They are also very durable and their fit and…
