This Blu-ray player is perfect for the average DVD/CD user who doesn't need bells and whistles, Wi-Fi, apps, etc. I bought this refurbished player two weeks ago for a reasonable price, watched a couple of blu-rays and so far it has worked well and am happy with my purchase. Like many others, I just wanted a cheap, basic Blu-ray player for one of my TVs. I received the first set on June 25th, hooked it up, connected the HDMI cable to the TV. I had some trouble turning the device on, but it eventually happened. Played the DVD and it looked good. As soon as I turned off the power, the device would no longer turn on. This DVD is no frills, works great, easy to connect BUT NO HDMI cable included. I never thought about it when ordering and I had the cable anyway so I didn't care.
