Great set for beginners!

I love this sashiko set, well worth the money! Easy to use and has a very cute design! I've really fallen in love with this form of sewing and here are some really good practice kits.

Great set at a great price

Absolutely great set to start with! The kit is very valuable as everything I received was made in Japan by Yokota (Daruma). I love it and have already started sewing one of these. The English lessons are helpful but still require some guesswork if you've never done sashiko before. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • Even old people get it
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Everything you need

This set contains all the materials needed for Sachiko's lessons. I borrowed a few books from my local library with all the information you need to get started sewing. The kit does not have this information so you will need instructions, but the materials themselves are very good. It's great to have three pre-printed 12" pieces of fabric in the kit. No need to spend time transferring your design - you can just start embroidering. instantly!

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Expensive

Everything you need for Sashiko embroidery.

I started with a straight line pattern on the fabric. Once I got into the rhythm it was nice and relaxing. Ended up buying a different brand. I struggled to get the eye of the included needle through the fabric when I had over 3 stitches on the needle. Also, I highly recommend purchasing this set. It has everything you need to start embroidering sashiko. I also cut the patterned fabric into 4 pieces as I wanted to work with a smaller area and plan to make coasters out of it. There is also a…

Great start with Sashiko

I have just received this set and I have to say that while "MtnMona" is definitely entitled to his point of view, some points are grossly exaggerated in my humble opinion. Sashiko needles come in different lengths and serve different purposes. Short needles are the easiest to control and are ideal for beginners. Shorter needles are also great for sewing curved lines. Long needles are better for sewing straight stitches. The thimbles are not "toys" and very durable. Where MtnMona says "A can…

Great starter set with lots of materials to play with

I discovered Sashiko while looking for ways to mend clothes. I've watched a few videos and experimented a bit myself using regular embroidery thread, but decided to try one of these kits to practice more on a particular needle technique. I'm halfway through my first kitchen napkin and I really like it. The guide requires some thought to understand its translation, but it's not that bad, and if you're really stuck there are hundreds of good YouTube videos you can check out with a simple search…
