burned out in less than 2 weeks

The original bulb lasted 10 years, this one blew out in less than 2 weeks. According to reports from others, Home Depot no longer makes this type of ceiling light. She was already at our house when we moved in. When that new bulb failed, we went to Ace Hardware and bought a bulb to replace a round. Not that bright, but enough until we completely replace the lamp. Request a refund from Revain for this defective bulb. All we have to do is go to the UPS store, no label is required.

  • Easy to use

Works great but had to be flipped

The original bulb for this ceiling light is no longer available from Home Depot or Lowes. So I desperately decided to try this one even though the reviews said they couldn't get it to work because the connector on the original bulb is at a 45 degree angle and this one isn't. I prayed my plug would have enough cable slack for it to work. As it turned out, the cord was long enough to pull out and plug into the lightbulb, but then the plug was so thick that the lightbulb couldn't fit into the…

The most expensive lightbulb in my house

When I was renovating my house, I changed the lights. Unfortunately, one of the lights I selected uses this type of bulb. This is a beautiful lamp but I had a terrible time finding this bulb. (Do you even call such a lamp a "light bulb"?) There are several lamps that look alike, but the problem is in the contacts. There are several contact configurations - so be sure to pay attention to them. It gives off a nice, bright light. Buying this lightbulb taught me a lesson. If I need an unknown…

This is a replacement for a lamp that is no longer available.

We live in a rented house, we change the lightbulbs ourselves, so instead of replacing the ugly ceiling light I had to get a spare lightbulb. I found out that this light and all replacement parts including the ring light are no longer made. After searching the internet I found that this bulb was the closest thing to what was needed. I had a problem installing the lamp connector. While the pin size and placement is correct, the outside dimensions of the light's plug are artificially oversized…

Good replacement for a light bulb.

I bought this bulb to replace the Viva brand 55w T6 double ring light that came with a Hampton Bay (Home Depot brand) ceiling light that I have bought a dozen years ago. The Viva lamp appears to have been discontinued and Home Depot does not have a replacement. However, Satco S6596 is a good lamp replacement. It is slightly larger in diameter than the Viva, both inside and outside, but still fits in the lamp clips. In fact, the fit is slightly better (just snug enough, not too tight) than the…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
