Great hub but power passthrough is too low for MacBook Pro

I initially thought this hub was fantastic. Over time I encountered 2 issues that changed my mind: 1) Power Transfer not working for Macbook Pro. My MBP requires 87 watts of power. When passing the hub, the charge drops to 47 watts. Over time, the laptop shuts down due to insufficient power. 2) The micro SD card is too deep. You cannot insert and remove the Micro SD card without using a sharp object. The card sits too far in the hub before the spring snaps it into place.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Great product that works perfectly with no problems

I bought this item to upgrade my MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt only. This is a full-featured multiport adapter that offers almost everything you need in one unified device. When considering alternatives on the market, this option turned out to be the best. All ports work without problems. The only minor complaint about this device, which can be the case with other similar devices, is that it gets a little warm.

Pros
  • GOLS certified

Not compatible with Netgear Orbi LAN

Recently, my Netgear Orbi RBK50 LAN was behaving strangely: all the ethernet connections in my house stopped working intermittently while the wireless connections stayed connected. I almost went insane looking for a solution to the problem. I searched everything I could think of with Google. I have replaced the ethernet cables. I have replaced the ethernet switches. I even did a factory reset of the router and reconfigured everything from scratch. Out of desperation, I started deleting devices…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons

Thinkpad X280 + Ubuntu + Satechi == Lucky

I have a Thinkpad X280 running Ubuntu 16.04. Lenovo Dock not working. He goes through power and everything. Satechi works great. I get enough power to keep my laptop charged (it will probably charge slower than when plugged directly into a 65w adapter, but 45w is enough to keep it charged all day and charge slowly. HDMI port, Ethernet port, USB ports and SD card slots were all very good. While the adapter does get warm and I'll keep an eye on it, I'm happy so far.

Pros
  • All great!

One button to control them all

If you have a newer Mac, this is the only button to control them all. My office bought several other keys and I ordered them at a conference where five other people took them out and attacked them. This thing is even better than advertised, and as a bonus, you can plug your power bank into the USB-C port and power your Mac without missing a beat. I had three high speed cell phones in a meeting getting charged by this thing while having a 4k monitor and my mac getting charged at the same time…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Not sure

Unreliable junk in Computers & Accessories

This works great for my standard USB ports. But the USB-C port stopped working (or maybe never worked!). Until recently, I didn't use the port on my MacBook Air for a while. When I first tried to connect an external hard drive via USB-C, the hard drive actually didn't show up. Tried several different USB-C ports and various other USB-C ports (external GPU, monitor, etc.). Nothing. No connection. When you pay $80 for something, you expect it to work the first time or last for years. It looks…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • I'll write back later
