We are using this as a doorstop on a balcony with a ceramic tile floor, so it is installed on the floor and drilled through the ceramic tiles into the sealed wooden floor. Silicone adhesive was used to attach the main post and the included anchor to the tile and sub floor. Works for 3 months with no signs of wear.
