Update from September 23, 2021: Strange. The product is supplied without a protective seal on the bottle neck. Came in an airtight sealed plastic box with bubbles (new). Just a note. I add "Cover Gray Developer" to my hair dye/color mix and 20 volume developer for better coverage on stubborn gray hair. Extremely watery, not creamy at all. There was no liquid in the bottle. Was not attached to the top of the product, it may already have been opened and used.

Not suitable for covering gray hair. Left for 40 minutes and gray hair was still grey; (I will continue to purchase and use the developers that come with the boxed product as they are so much better than they turned out to be. Years of use, not too hard or smelly. Covers gray very well, I use a full 3oz tube and 3oz satin hair dye. Leave on for 40 minutes. I put petroleum jelly around my hairline and on my side buns to keep my skin from staining and my sideburns from getting too dark. After washing everything off, I leave the Trader Joe's hair mask on for 20 minutes. I have thick dry curly hair, afterwards my hair is very soft and shiny.

Dyeing gray hair is difficult, but satin is an incredible product. Highly recommend and also mix in the ratio recommended by the company. Note that the texture of this developer is thinner (I assume it can actually penetrate grays) than regular developer. So be careful how you apply because it can work if you're not careful. What I don't like about this developer is that it doesn't have a number to know the strength. I followed the quantities and my gray roots were not covered. My friend used it and she said she needed to add more color than stated. I'm ready to try again.

Satin is an Italian company. They make great hair dye at a reasonable price. Their cover gray developer version is better for gray hair. I've been using it for years and my hair looks shiny and young. Great product, worth the price. Buying from Revain saves me so much time looking for makeup stores that carry it. Mix 2 parts developer with 1 part satin hair color. Mix well. Apply to hair and roots with a brush. Cover with a shower cap for 45 minutes. Shampoo thoroughly with COOL (or lukewarm)…

So I need to lighten virgin hair and I had to switch to v30 because that one doesn't work. Maybe apply toner, but I'm not sure
